300 saplings planted under 'Plant4Mother' campaign

A tree plantation campaign was held at the New DC Office site to support the initiative of the Prime Minister's 'Plant4Mother' campaign, also known as 'Ek Ped Ma Ke Nam', aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability in Wokha on August 31. 

The target of the campaign is to plant 80 crore trees across India by September 2024, with a broader goal of 140 crore trees by March 2025. During today’s event, 300 saplings were planted on the site.

The event saw notable participation from key officials including Vineet Kumar Wokha, Deputy Commissioner; Suman WM Sivachar, District Forest Officer of Wokha Forest Division; Nuhuta Tunyi, SDO Civil Wokha; and Sangmou Khiamniungan, EAC Wokha. Representatives from various Wokha departments also took part, including the Wokha Forest Division, DIPR, DWO, AE, CAWD and DC office.
