Leaders at the 30th death anniversary of Zashei Huire at Phek on May 9.
Phek, May 9 (MExN): The 30th Death Anniversary of Zashei Huire (1971-1996), former president Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) was observed at GHS Auditorium, Phek village on May 9.
The programme was organized by Phek Village Council wherein around 2000 people gathered and paid homage to late Zashei Huire.
The legacy of Zashei Huire was shared by Shevohu Keyho, Tatar, FGN/NNC.
MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu was the speaker while short speeches was delivered by Vezuhu Keyho, president Chakhesang Pubic Organization, Wepelo Mebou, president Phek Area Public Organization, Sano Vamuzo and Bino Kenye.
The programme was chaired by Niesucho Keyho while welcome address was delivered by Thupuve Vero, chairman, Phek Village Council.
Chekredziimi Cultural Preservation Society led by Pudusu Vero presented Zashei Huire’s tribute song while Zalezo Vero & Co. presented indigenous tune. Samaritan group also presented a special number.
Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo, Pastor, Phek Town Baptist Church and Rev. Kevengoi Sakha, Pastor, Lozaphuhu Baptist Church prayed for the programme.
Earlier, Rev. Vesito Venuh, Pastor, Phek Village Baptist Church led a prayer during laying of wreath at Zashei Huire’s Graveyard, Phek Town.
