The 30th edition of the Mayangnokcha Awards for Academic Excellence was held at Town Hall, Mokokchung on August 8 under the aegis of the Mayangnokcha Award Trust (MAT), with Temjenmenba MLA & Advisor, Government of Nagaland and also the grandson of Mayangnokcha.

In his speech, Temjenmenba acknowledged Mayangnokcha’s unwavering determination and efforts to change his people through education, which was his vision. The difficulties he may have encountered during his lifetime were likely numerous, but his determination, focus, and vision to reach his objective are qualities that all young achievers and motivated students should strive to imitate in order to thrive in life, he stated.

He also said that education is not all about classroom learning; it also encompasses learning from parents, teachers, and predecessors about values, which determine the true aspect of an educated society. He also challenged the young achievers and students by saying that, in this contemporary world, the onus of responsibilities is on their shoulders, and they should therefore act as torchbearers to bring about the desired changes in our society.
