DIMAPUR, DEC 18 (MExN): Denying the claim made by AZ Jami of the NSCN (K), the NSCN (IM) has counter replied by saying that his statement was concocted. Jami had earlier made a statement that the NSCN (IM) had submitted fresh proposals to the Government of India on February last which provides a separate state of Naga inhabited areas with two tiers of legislature and separate Governor for Konyak and Zeliangrong autonomous councils. A release issued by the information and publicity wing of the NSCN (IM)/GPRN terms the accusation as “nothing but a pigmentation of his (Jami’s) own imaginative fictions and rhetoric theme to garner support for his political campaigns to obstruct the Naga political solution.”
The Nagas are neither seeking for any form of autonomous councils nor any other such kind of fake disingenuous accusations, the release said. There exists no demand for Naga-inhabited areas; but we are seeking what is rightfully ours, it continues. The 31-point document, according to the NSCN (IM), does not exist. On the allegation that NSCN (IM) cadres were being trained in Afghanistan, the release demanded of Jami to substantiate his claim with evidence.
“Coming to the topic of accusations by the Khaplang upon the NSCN for attacking their designated camps; it is like a monkey mocking at itself in a mirror,” the release said. “It should also be noted by Naga leaders, intellectuals, politicians and the general Naga public that our protracted political struggle, as aspired by us, should not be put to ransom for individualistic, political leverage, mileage or gains.”
