Morung Express News Dimapur | June 27 All together 32 hospitals located in Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) have agreed to give medical treatment concession to North East people, a Nodal official for the NE people said today. It is a first of its kind “Reach Out Initiatives” to vulnerable sections from NE working in un-organised private companies, students, lawyers, and media personnel, IGP Robin Hibu IPS, Nodal Officer for North East People, Delhi informed on Delhi Police For North East Folks Facebook page. More than 11 lakhs NE people are either working in private sectors or studying in Delhi & NCR (Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Sonepat &Meerut) without any medical insurance or avail CGHS (central govt health scheme) like govt servants, he maintained forcing them to pay for their medical treatments from their meagre salaries in case of medical emergencies, leaving no money to save or send back homes. Seeing the situation as well as many youth approaching him for help, the Nodal officer had made repeated requests through personal letters and meetings, apprising officials of the hospitals about the helplessness faced by NE people and offer them the concession under their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. “All have agreed to give concessions ranging from 30% to 15% in their hospitals for medical treatment for our people. All hospitals have sent their approval letters to me. All 32 hospitals have also appointed Nodal officers whom, we can contact 24×7 for concession,” IGP Hibu further said. This facility can be availed only by NE employees in any private companies/shops etc and NE students studying in the Delhi and NCR, and not for CGHS beneficiaries, he added.
