3.22 lakh households eligible to avail Ayushman Bharat PMJY in Nagaland

Around 3.22 lakh households in Nagaland are eligible to avail Ayushman Bharat PMJY -a central government health insurance scheme, which was launched countrywide in 2018.

The health scheme provides 5 lakh insurance per family per year.

In Nagaland, a total of 60 hospitals including 55 state-run hospitals and of five private hospitals are empanelled under this scheme, informed Dr. Sao Tunyi of the state Health & Family Welfare.

The five private hospitals are CIHSR and Faith Hospital in Dimapur, Bethel Hospital in Kohima, House of Hope in Tuensang and Impur Christian Hospital in Mokokchung.

On Saturday, the H&FW department carried out a verification of beneficiaries for generation PMJY health card and training for common service centres at District Hospital Dimapur.

On eligibility criteria for the health card, Dr. Tunyi said the list of beneficiaries are drawn from two lists -Socio-Economic & Caste Census 2011 and renewed card holders of RSBY scheme 2016-17.

The health insurance scheme covers 1534 treatment cases including medical and surgery cases and chemotherapy but does not cover OPD treatment, organ transplant or fertility tests, Dr. Tunyi informed.

He further informed that to check whether a person, family is eligible for the health scheme, one can check from respective district hospital, CHC, common service centres of Information Technology department or log on to www.mera.pmjay.gov.in
