Shamator, January 14: A 33/11 kv sub-station at Shamator town was inaugurated by parliamentary secretary for CAWD, R Tohanba, on Tuesday (Jan 14). The sub-station constructed under the central flagship scheme Accelerated Power Development Reform Programme (APDRP) will supplement the existing power supply to Shamator town and adjoining villages.
The parliamentary secretary in his address said power is one of the most important requirements to speed up development in the rural areas. Tohanba said ever since the inception of DAN government, the government has spared to efforts to generate more power to light up homes in all districts. Tohanba also assured to look into proposals put up by the Power department officials and Shamator public including construction of retaining wall to protect the sub-station, construction of control room and staff quarter and alternative road to the sub-station.
SDO-I (Power) Electrical Division Tuensang, Limbu, gave a brief account about the construction of the sub-station and president, Public Forum Shamator, Tokiu, also urged the parliamentary secretary to address the proposals so that the sub-station can supply electricity at the earliest.
