Dimapur, October 29 (MExN): The 33rd Session of the Sümi Baptist Convention (SBC) was held at Usütomi Baptist Church in Zunheboto District from October 26-27 under the theme “Together We Serve.” The SBC comprises three Sümi Baptist Church Associations: SBAK Nito-Mount, SABAK Pughoboto, and WSBAK Akuvuto.
At the convention, the Word of God was shared by Rev Dr Hotokhu P Zhimo, President of the SBC; Rev Dr Phughoto Sema, Executive Secretary of the Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK); and Rev Dr Khehovi Shohe, Director of the SBC. Dr Hutton Sema, Pastor of the Sümi Baptist Church Zunheboto, led the Bible study, and Dr Vihuto Assumi, President of the Sümi Hoho, exhorted the congregation.
Meanwhile, Rev Kughato K Chophi, Executive Secretary of SBAK Nito-Mount, was unanimously elected as the next SBC President.
According to a press release, more than 350 pastors attended the event, and the SBC extended its appreciation to the host church, participants, and all who supported the event through prayers.
