34 more cases reported in Nagaland, recovery tally at 197

Nagaland reported 34 new COVID-19 positive cases on July 2, taking the state’s tally of positive cases to 535.


Peren district continued to have the highest number of positive cases in the state as 32 out of the new cases reported on Thursday belonged to the district.


The other two cases were from Kohima and Dimapur QCs respectively, according to a DIPR report.


Meanwhile, with 15 recoveries on Thursday, the state’s total recovery was 197, leaving the number of active cases in the state at 338.


Among the recovered cases, 12 were from Kohima, 2 from Dimapur and 1 from Peren, according to State Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom’s tweet.


Peren has now 145 active cases, followed by Kohima with 83 cases and Dimapur with 39 active cases.


“All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. As per the severity of symptoms, all the 338 active cases are asymptomatic,” according to the daily briefing on COVID-19 by the State Principal Secretary, Home.


The report added that, till date, 12,570 samples have been tested while results of 11,854 samples have been received. 4,551 persons are presently under facility quarantine.


The State Helpline Number 1800 345 0019 was also provided for anyone developing signs and symptoms of cough, fever or difficulty in breathing.
