Kohima, October 7 (MExN): The Kohima District Administration in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) launched the coaching programme for the first batch of NSSB coaching under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative. The event took place at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Kohima on October 7.
A total of 35 girls have registered for the coaching programme, which according to a DIPR report aims to equip young women with the tools and knowledge to succeed in competitive exams and shape their futures.
Addressing the gathering, Chumroba J Sangtam, Managing Director of Keystone Coaching Institute, emphasized the institute’s commitment to bridging educational gaps through structured mentorship. He noted that Keystone has a strong track record, with experienced teachers and a history of students achieving excellent results. He urged the girls to seize this opportunity, work hard, and make their families proud.
Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, encouraged the participants to strive for success, noting that once they succeed, they should become brand ambassadors for the BBBP initiative. He highlighted the programme as a stepping stone towards a brighter future and urged the girls to collaborate, compete healthily, and remain focused on their goals. Ramnikant also reminded the students to prioritise their health and persevere through challenges.
Moasunep Jingru, EAC Development motivated the girls to attend classes diligently, form study groups, and create a positive study environment. He encouraged them to empower themselves and their peers.
The programme was chaired by Kesoneinuo Kense, Gender Specialist at DHEW, who welcomed the participants. A prayer was offered by K Rakalung, UDA, Judicial Branch.
