36 aspiring entrepreneurs complete NSEDM’s enterprise readiness workshop

Dimapur, August 20 (MExN): The Nagaland Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM) trained 36 aspiring entrepreneurs through its third Enterprise Readiness Support Workshop (ERSW 3.0), with the two-day programme focusing on business planning, financial literacy, credit access and mentorship.

Held on August 18 and 19 at E-Space, Duncan, Dimapur, the workshop was part of NSEDM’s post-training support aimed at helping trained candidates transition towards employment, self-employment and entrepreneurship, according to the State DIPR.

The participants were identified through an Entrepreneurship Readiness Assessment Survey conducted during their skill training, which enabled NSEDM to identify candidates with interest and potential for entrepreneurship and provide targeted post-training support.

As per the State DIPR, the workshop covered entrepreneurship mindset and readiness, business growth and strategy, operations, financial literacy, digital skills, credit access, legal and regulatory awareness, cost analysis, business planning and pitching.

Particular emphasis was placed on translating business ideas into actionable plans. Participants developed business plans and pitch decks and presented their proposed ventures, outlining their target markets, operational requirements, growth plans and funding needs.

The workshop was anchored by Imtisunup Longchar, Entrepreneurship Development Counsellor, NSEDM, and brought together practitioners and domain experts as resource persons. Day One featured sessions facilitated by Lezo Putsure, CEO, EduCentre School of Business; Nengneithem Hengna, Director, Runway Nagaland; Kewengule Therie, Founder, Ake Living; Alemjungla Jamir, Founder, Naga Bowl Express; and Nzanrhoni Humtsoe, Creative Director and Co-Founder, Brief & Co. Marketing Agency. Day Two featured sessions by N Robert Tungoe, Manager, SBI Dimapur, and Lipokjungla Ozukum, Director, Ilandlo Services Pvt Ltd.

Credit facilitation was another key component, with participants sensitised on bank financing, credit readiness, eligibility, repayment considerations and government-supported schemes. The sessions also emphasised responsible borrowing and informed financial decision-making.

The workshop also introduced participants to the next stage of NSEDM’s Intensive Mentorship Programme, which will provide continued guidance and handholding as they work towards implementing and strengthening their enterprises.

NSEDM, under the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), has adopted an end-to-end approach to skill development, extending support beyond training to enterprise readiness, mentorship, credit linkages and other mechanisms aimed at strengthening livelihood opportunities.

The workshop concluded with words of encouragement from Meripeni Ngullie, Under Secretary and Project Lead, NSEDM, who urged participants to put their learning into practice and remain committed to their entrepreneurial pursuits, the State DIPR added.
