36 banks attend consultative meeting

Dimapur, February 24 (DIPR): Dimapur District Banks consultative committee (DCC/DLRC/DLSE) held its quarter end meeting at DC’s conference hall on February 22. Altogether there are 36 National and State Bank branches in the District. The meeting was initiated by Chief Manager Lead Bank, Dimapur D. Saikia.
Agendas such as performance of Bank’s under Annual Credit Plan 2010-11, performance of Bank’s under Government sponsored Schemes, Various credit cards (KCC/ACC) schemes, Review of financial inclusion by extension of Banking services, no-frill account opening, providing Banking services in every Village having population over 2000, Recovery position under Government sponsored schemes and Establishment of RSETI in Dimapur were deliberated at the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Maongwati Aier, who is also the chairman of DLRC, said that performances of Banks in Dimapur are better than others District in the state. While stating on loan defaulters, he stated that District Administration will fully support and assist all financial Institute (Bank’s) operating in the District for recover of loans from the borrowers/defaulters. He said that the committee will also organized public awareness programme on loan recovery. He also urged the bankers to play vital role to felicitate various Government flagship schemes to the rural people for up-lifting the economic status of the rural people. He also appreciated the newly established financial institute in the district and assured that the committee will give full cooperation. He expects that they will provide better service to the common people and urged the bank’s, which are lacking behind in term of public service to come with their performance.
