360 degree multi media campaign launched

KOHIMA, AUGUST 23 (DIPR): The Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) has launched a two month long 360 degree multi media campaign on Integrated Counseling and Testing Center w.e.f. August 15 to September 15. Minister for Health & Family welfare, Nagaland Dr. T.M. Lotha announced this during a press conference on August 23 at Hotel Japfü, Kohima.

Emphasizing on the importance of HIV testing, the Minister called upon the people to come for counseling and testing in all the 60 Integrated Counseling and Testing Centers (ICTCs) spread across the state. “Getting to know one’s HIV status would help in people adapting to healthy lifestyles, access to life saving treatments and prevent further transmission of HIV/AIDS”, he added.

Stating that the main objective of 360 degree multi-media campaign is to increase the number of people to come for HIV counseling and testing, the Minister said that the campaign intends to use all available medium - print, electronic, Interpersonal communication etc, to disseminate information raise the seriousness of HIV/AIDS issue and increase the uptake of counseling and testing.

Commissioner and Secretary, Health & Family welfare, Munukhol John, who chaired the meeting made an appeal to the media fraternity to join hands in fighting against HIV/AIDS, so that the 360 degree multi-media campaign will be a success.
