
Kohima, April 1 (DIPR): Another 12 schools in Kohima were selected and declared as Tobacco Free Schools by Jt. Director, DHFW, Kohima, State Nodal Officer, NTCP, Dr. Hotokhu Chishi during a District Level Coordination Committee quarterly meeting was held on March 31 at DC’s Office Conference Hall.
With their addition, he declared that 39 schools are now Tobacco Free under Kohima District and hoped that all the Schools under the district will be Tobacco Free in near future.
He also welcomed DC Kohima and new chairmen of District Level Coordination Committee Rajesh Soudararajan to the meeting and expressed hope that with the new Chairmen, the process of making tobacco free will be a great success in the coming future.
Rajesh Soudararajan, who chaired the programme, also urged the authorities to work for a better Kohima Tobacco Free and said that he would appeal to the District Transport Officer to issue an order to all the public transports to undertake Smoke Free awareness drive.
During the meeting, activities of District Tobacco Control Cell Kohima from September to November 2016 were also highlighted by Senior Dental Surgeon, District Nodal Officer, Kohima, Dr. Arenla Walling.
