The 3rd edition of All Nagaland Open Folksong and Folk Fusion competition under the aegis of Kekhrie Krotho Khuzama in association with Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) Nagaland will take place on November 23 at Khuzama village under Kohima district.
This was announced during a press conference by Nunese Sale of Kekhrie Krotho at Kohima Trade Centre. Other sponsors for this event include Nagaland Tourism Department and Department of Art and Culture, Nagaland.
Mhathozho said that there shall be three categories under which a winner and a runner up will be rewarded from each category.
The prize money for Group Folksong Competition and Group Folk Fusion Competition stands at Rs 30,000 for winner and Rs 20,000 for runner up.
The winner of Solo Folk Fusion will be awarded with Rs 15,000 while runner up will receive Rs 8000. Registration is free and anyone interested to participate may register till November 20. Chovi Sale highlighted the background of 1st and 2nd edition. The sole motive for organising such event is to promote “our culture and heritage through songs.”
