Tuensang, January 18 (MExN): With great pomp and gaiety, Yimchungru Union, 3rd NAP sector, Tuensang celebrated Tsungkamneo festival, a peace and harvest festival of the Yimchungrus on January 16.
A press release informed that speaking on the significance of Tsungkamneo, Yiurenkiu stated the festival was a peace and harvest festival celebrated with much joy and merrymaking. It is during this festival misunderstandings are buried for lifetime and also new relationships are started, he reiterated. He also said that the festival was marked by sharing of food among the Yimchungrus.
The highlight of the programme included dance by the Yimchungru Cultural troops of 3rd NAP sector. The programme was chaired by B. Thrunso, executive chairman YU, while Yankiumong, pastor, Yimchungru Baptist Church 3rd NAP Tuensang, invoked God’s blessings. Welcome speech was presented by Phunung, President YU, exhortation speech by Phungkiu GB, R. Rechamong P/L and benediction was pronounced by Chikila, women leader.
