A two-day Tseminyu District Chess Championship 2025 culminated at Tseminyu Town Hall on July 12.
In general category, Mohokiya Apon emerged the champion title and received a cash prize of Rs 25,000 while Thomas Lorin and Keshenbu Khing bagged 2nd and 3rd position and received Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
The prize money for general category was sponsored by Joel Naga, Proprietor Lami School, Tsonsa, Tseminyu District.
In Under 14 Category, Shalo Mao bagged the 1st position and received Rs 7000. The 2nd and 3rd position holder Sokelo Tep and Bwesen Kent awarded with Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively.
The prize money for Under 14 category was jointly sponsored by Japhet Woch, Shuyhunle Nyenthong, Dr Gwathonlo, Dr Kenalo Kath, Jonah Semp, Christopher Chadi, Atilo Tep, Asao Seb and Panii Eliakim.
This championship was organised by Tseminyu District Chess Association (TDCA); recognized by Nagaland Chess Association.
Altogether, 29 players joined the event.
