4 fresh cases on Monday; State tally at 122

Kohima, June 8 (MExN): Nagaland recorded 4 fresh COVID-19 cases on June 8 taking the State's total to 122. With 8 recoveries, there are 114 active cases in the state.


Earlier in the day, it was informed that 5 new cases were recorded on Monday. However, the Health and Family Welfare Department clarified that samples of one of the cases was collected twice on May 30 and 31, resulting in duplication. The total number of confirmed cases in the State now stands at 122 and not 123.


According to the daily briefing on COVID-19 by Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha, all the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals.


A total of 109 samples have been tested by Truenat, out of which 108 samples have tested negative and result of 1 sample is awaited.


As per the severity of symptoms, out of 122 positive cases, there are 114 asymptomatic cases while 8 have recovered after treatment from the COVID Hospital. Out of these, there are 86 males and 36 females, Sinha stated.


As per the briefing, 4 persons are in the age group of 0-17 years, 117 are in the age group of 18-44 years and 1 case in the 45 and above age group.

 

1348 returnees under govt QCs at Kohima
Meanwhile, a DIPR report informed that altogether 1348 returnees from various parts of the country are under mandatory quarantine in five different government institutional quarantine centres under Kohima district as on June 8.


868 returnees are at K. Badze Quarantine Centre, 394 at Meriema Quarantine Centre, 51 at JNV Quarantine Centre and 7 at ATI Quarantine Centre. It also said that 5 returnees are presently in Paid Quarantine facility and 23 others are under observation at IG Stadium, Kohima. 


Overall, the state has a total of 5,367 persons under facility quarantine and 7,855 persons in home quarantine.
