4 held for drug smuggling and theft

DIMAPUR, MARCH 27 (MExN): In two separate incidents on March 27, four persons were arrested for drug possession and burglary in Dimapur. Two men were arrested with a consignment spasmo proxyvon and nitrosun - near the IOC depot at Signal Basti, disclosed the Special Branch, Dimapur. The duo, identified as Sajol Debnath alias Bapi and Nirmal Rai were transporting the consignment, containing 1846 capsules of spasmo proxyvon and 90 tablets of Nitorsun, in an autorickshaw. The drugs were acquired from a medical outlet, one Debnath Pharmacy, in Bardhaman, West Bengal to be disposed in Dimapur. The consignment is estimated to be valued at Rs. 50,000 in the illicit drug market in Dimapur.

Earlier in the morning, two men were arrested for burglary. According to the Special Branch, the burglars, identified as Hotoka alias Lalu (18s) and Md. Johuruddin (38), had broken into a shop at Kalibari Road the night before and decamped with one photocopy machine, mobile handsets, mobile recharge coupons and cash. The duo was arrested only a few hours later from a house at West Yard by a joint team of Sub Urban and Special Branch personnel.
