A taxi from Longleng to Dimapur met with a fatal accident in Balipathar, Karbi Anglong claiming four lives and wounding two others.
According to police sources, the accident occurred in the late afternoon when the taxi, a Tata Sumo vehicle collided with an oncoming truck. Four of the passengers were reported to have died on the spot and the two wounded, were admitted to the Bokajan Government Primary Health Centre.
The identities of the deceased victims and the wounded could not be ascertained.
