4 MMA fighters from Nagaland win big at nationals

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 25 (MExN): Four MMA fighters from Nagaland won medals at the MMA and Striking MMA India nationals at the District Sports Club in Sion, Mumbai.  

The event was organised by the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts India held from October 22 to 24. 

The four fighters from Nagaland who competed were Arsenba Ozukum (flyweight 57kgs), Limasunep Imchen (bantamweight 61kgs), Kekhrieneitso Angami (featherweight 66kgs), and Avizo Lanamai (lightweight 70kgs)
Arsenba won gold in Striking MMA; Limasunep Imchen won gold in MMA; Kekhrieneitso competed in both MMA and striking MMA, winning gold and silver respectively; while Avizo Lanamai won bronze in MMA.

All of them are training out of The Combat Academy Nagaland in Dimapur, and representing the state in their respective weight divisions.

All 3 gold medalists have been chosen to represent India at the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) world championships to be held in Berlin, Germany during December.

Arsenba Ozukum, Limasunep Imchen and Kekhrieneitso Angami represented India at the GAMMA Asian Championships in Kazakhstan earlier this year. Ozukum won a bronze in MMA and Angami won silver in Striking MMA.
