40, 462 receiving pension in Nagaland

Nagaland Senior Citizens Association (NSCA) President Dr. S. I. Tushi Ao today said the world’s population is gradually becoming grey.  

In 2015, one in every 8 of the population of the world was above 60 years. By 2030, one in every 5 shall be above 60 years and elders will outnumber children (0 to 9 years) by 1 million to 1.3 million.

In Nagaland, out of 2 million population, there were 40,462 receiving National Old Age Pension Scheme as on 4-11-2010.  

He said this during the formal launching ceremony of All Nagaland Aphuyemi Elders Forum (ANAEF) here today.
