Peren, May 29 (DIPR): The IRCS Nagaland State Branch in collaboration with the IRCS Peren District Branch and with support from the Medical Department, Peren conducted a one day free medical camp at Nsong Town on May 26. Altogether 428 patients covering 7 villages, of which 165 are male and 263 are female including 204 minors (male-76 and female-128), with varied ailments were treated and given free medicines. 90 years old Akiabo was the oldest male treated during the Camp, while 80 years old Deiheu was the oldest female treated during the camp.
The Camp was inaugurated by General Secretary IRCS Nagaland, Zakie Kire. In his inaugural address, Kire expressed happiness for being able to conduct free medical camp in the remote like Nsong, which was the long felt desire of the IRCS. He also expressed his hope that the people of Nsong and its surrounding Villages get maximum benefits through this camp. Kire also extended his thankfulness to the Town Council, All the volunteers, doctors and medical fraternity who have extended co- operation and work tirelessly to make the camp a success.
Earlier, the Chairman IRCS Peren district, Albert in his address extended warm welcome to the IRCS Team from Kohima and to the people of Nsong Town. He highlighted the grievances of Nsong area people and also the objective and activities of the IRCS. Other highlights included invocation prayer by Heumong, Head Deacon Nsong Zeme Church and vote of thanks was proposed by Ibang, Chairman Nsong Town.
Besides five Medical Doctors who rendered their services during the camp included, Dr. Hedungkiebe, Dr. P. Newmai, Dr. Nuone Kire, Dr. Neilasakho and Dr. Tunda who is also the convener of Health Committee IRCS Peren.
