Parade contingents at the ceremonial attestation parade of the 56th batch held on November 5 at Nagaland Armed Police Training Centre (NAPTC) Parade ground, Chümoukedima.
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 5 (MExN): The ceremonial attestation parade of the 56th batch comprising of 429 recruit Constables from NAP Bns and NAP (IR) units was held on November 5 at Nagaland Armed Police Training Centre (NAPTC) Parade ground, Chümoukedima.
The Director General of Police, Nagaland, T John Longkumer, IPS, inspected the parade and took the salute from 12 parade contingents. He congratulated the newly graduated constables of the 56th Batch including the family members and termed the day as remarkable not only for the newly inducted Constables but also for Nagaland Police. The DGP lauded the display of drill by the newly passed out Constables.
Describing policemen as “peace warriors”, the DGP reminded the newly graduated Constables to maintain peace under any circumstances and secure the country from all internal and external enemies.
“As policeman, they should be willing to serve, secure and perform duties for citizens, state and nation without any fear or favour keeping in mind the oath of allegiance taken,” the DGP stated. He congratulated the IGP (Training & Border), DIG (Training) and Commandant NAPTC for the successful conduct of the programme.
Commandant NAPTC, James Kinghen, NPS administered the oath of allegiance to the new recruits. Giving a brief report of the training, Kinghen informed that 429 new recruits comprising of 283 from NAP units and 146 from NAP (IR) units were given training in diversified subjects such as physical training, drill, weapons handling, field and battle craft, physical endurance, unarmed combat and various relevant laws of IPC, CrPc, MROP, first aid, police operational procedure, gender sensitization etc.
Throughout the training, much emphasis has been stressed on discipline, loyalty, sincerity and devotion to duty, he added. The educational qualification of the new recruits included 1 post graduate, 36 graduates, 1 B.Tech, 55 PU passed, 111 matriculates and 225 under matriculates.
The DGP handed over the trophies and certificates to the awardees of the 56th Batch. The awardees included all round best and best in drill bagged by Constable Chumrenthung L Kikon, best in Weapon Handling to Constable Yimlong, best in PT to Constable Vechipo Rhakho, best in BPET to Constable N Orenvungo Murry, best in written to Constable Felix Jakha.
Deputy Commandant, Dr Kupe Kapfo, NPS was the parade commander while SM, NAPTC, ABI N Mhabemo Lotha was the parade 2 I/C of the parade.
