Phek, December 28 (MExN): The 42nd Games and Sports Meet 2018 Chozuba Town Youth Association (CTYA) was flagged off with Dr Chotisuh Sazo, MLA 18 A/C Chozuba as the Special Guest on December 26 at Chozuba town.
In his Presidential address, President CTYA Vesekho Shijo noted that the 5 colonies and a Veteran team will participate in the ongoing Sports Meet in various events. Meanwhile, he regretted the outgrowing numbers of alcohols users and other abusive substances and also challenged the youth to avert such anti-social elements. He urged the young minds to stand up for a peaceful cohesion and truth to derive a desirable social function and administration.
Puyoi Nyekha, President CRPO while delivering greeting asserted that with the changing trend, games and sports has become a great impact in the lives of young people today. He further added that virtues such as discipline and behavior should be cultivated so as to forge brotherhood and unity through sports.
Dr Sazo, MLA 18 A/C Chozuba in his speech urged the youth and women society to assist the administration and law enforcement agency in order to gain a fruitful social status. He also asserted that sports and games is relatively for friendship, health, honor and as a means of employment especially in law enforcing agencies, career etc. He encouraged the young people to specialize in a particular field. Above all else, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of everything, Dr Sazo stated and added that one should acknowledge God in whatever profession one pursues. The Games and Sports Meet 2018 was flagged off with an oath taking followed by tug of war. The event will conclude on December 29.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Kuzoto Vasa and Act of Blessing was pronounced by Head GB, Poranyi Shijoh. Zito Nyekha and Phakuzho Youth Association presented special number and indigenous tune respectively, while greeting was delivered by Puyoi Nyekha, President CRPO.
