DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 4 (MExN): The 42nd Greenwood School sports meet 2023 commenced on Wednesday with Col Manjeet Katoch, CO of 1st NCC Girls, Nagaland, as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony.
The chief guest, in his speech, said games and sports play a vital role in the lives of students as sports groom them to become disciplined and better persons. Declaring the sports meet open, he urged the players to play in true sportsman spirit and wished them success in every activity they undertake.
ol Katoch also took the salute from the 12 march past contingents comprising of Blue, Green, Yellow and Red houses (intermediate, junior and mini categories, respectively).
NCC Sgt. Dolimsomba was the parade commander while Joseph Konyak and Asmita Sangma were the torch bearers. Vice principal of Greenwood School Hemchandra Singh administered the oath taking.
Earlier in the programme, the school director, Asito Peseyie, in his welcome address, expressed gratitude to the chief guest, youth of Kuda ‘B’, elders of Kuda village and the parents for their cooperation and active support.
The inaugural programme started with invocation prayer pronounced by director, Mission and Evangelism of the school, Ketusilie Sakhrie.
