43 breast cancer cases detected in Mon

Women in Mon screened free breast cancer screening camps

 

Mon, February 20 (MExN): Free breast cancer screening camps for the women of Mon district was organized by District Administration, Mon from February 3 to 15 under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) programme. A total of 661 women were screened, out of which 43 cases have been detected.
Deputy Commissioner Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS in a press release stated that the camps were organized in collaboration with UMANG, a company based in Hyderabad. UMANG is powered by NIRAMAI technology (Non-Invasive Risk Assessment with Machine Intelligence).
The release said that this method of breast cancer screening can detect tumors 5 times smaller than what clinical exam can detect, is non contact, painless and free of any radiation.
The free breast cancer screening camps were held in Tizit, Aboi, Tobu, Naginimora, Mopong, Longching, Phomching and Chen town. The DC expressed gratitude to UMANG, District Medical Department, Konyak Nyupuh Shekho Khong (KNSK) and all individuals for extending their support making the programme successful.
