A total of 45 teams are set to compete in the 25th Anniversary edition of the NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2025, one of Nagaland’s premier football tournaments, which will commence on September 13 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
The tournament is jointly organised by the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) and Angami Students’ Union (ASU). The participating teams include one each from Delhi and Sikkim, seven from Manipur, and 36 from across Nagaland.
The opening ceremony will be graced by Metsubo Jamir, Minister for Rural Development & SIRD, Nagaland, as the inaugural guest.
This year’s edition holds special significance as it marks 39 years of remembrance for Lt. Kekuojalie Sachü and Lt. Vikhozo Yhoshü, who lost their lives during a peaceful rally on March 20, 1986, in Kohima.
Former champions including Tangkhul Katamnao Satlong, Nagaland Police, Red Scars, New Market FC, and Sechü Zubza FC will take part, along with NSL runners-up Nagaland United Sports Club.
Responding to growing demand from football enthusiasts abroad, the tournament will be live-streamed by IT partners BingeBOXX OTT and Dox Marketing and Media, covering matches at both Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, and Chümoukedima Football Stadium up to the grand finale.
