46 new cases reported; State tally at 3851

While 46 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Nagaland on August 29, the State’s tally of recovery continued to surpass the total number of active cases.

On Saturday, there were 925 active cases while the recoveries were 2908. The state’s tally of COVID-19 cases till date is 3851. According to an update from State Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom, out of the total 46 cases, 44 were in Kohima while Phek and Mon districts registered one new case each.

“Necessary contact tracing have been activated by our IDSP team,” Pangnyu tweeted.

Meanwhile, according to the daily briefing on COVID-19 by the State Principal Secretary, Home, out of the 3,851 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people are:1,633 cases from armed forces, 1,244 cases from returnees,278 cases of frontline workers and 696 cases of traced contacts.
