As per the Udyam Portal during January 2026, the state has 46,248 registered MSME units out of which there are 46,056 units under Micro, 176 under small and 16 units under medium enterprises.
The units registered as manufacturing stands at 14661and services stands at 31587. This was stated in the Annual Administrative Report 2025-26 of the Industries & Commerce department, tabled at the 8th session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA).
Dimapur district has the highest registration followed by Kohima district.
With the progressive growth of enterprises and ongoing sensitization programme in all the districts, the registration is expected to grow even more, the report stated.
MSME registration process is fully online, paperless without any need to upload any document and based on self-declaration. Only Aadhaar number will be enough for the registration.
After completion of the process of registration, a certificate will be issued online with QR code.
PAN & GST linked details about investment and turnover of enterprise will be taken automatically from Government Data base.
No enterprise shall file more than one Udyam registration. However, any number of activities including manufacturing or service or both may be specified or added in one registration.
Erstwhile EM-II or UAM registration or any other registration issued by any authority under the ministry of MSME, will have to migrate to Udyam registration portal or file Udyam registration afresh.
There will be no need of renewal of registration. Registration process is totally free.
