49 COVID-19 positive persons receiving medical care: Kronu

Nagaland’s Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Neiba Kronu today said that all 49 COVID-19 positive persons in Nagaland are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals.


Out of the 49 positive cases, 33 are asymptomatic and 16 are mild cases, the Minister said adding that “we do not have even moderate cases also.”


Addressing a press conference here this evening, the Minister said that active surveillance is going on to prevent further spreading of the infection. Till date, a total of 3157 samples have been tested. Results of 1789 samples have been received out of which 49 are positive. Results for 1368 samples are awaited, the Minister said.


On the health of the COVID-19 positive patients, Principal Director for Health & Family Welfare Dr Vizolie Z Suokhrie said that most of the patients are in 20-30 age groups without other disease conditions. Stating that vitamins are being given to them to boost their immunity, he said “Apart from it, there is no specific treatment.”
