4th Dynamic Fusion celebrates cultural heritage and creativity

CHÜMOUKEDIMA, APRIL 2 (MExN): The Department of History at St. Joseph University, Chümoukedima, in collaboration with the Heritage Club, hosted the 4th edition of Dynamic Fusion on April 1. The event, themed "History's Extravaganza: Unraveling the Rhythm of the Ages," celebrated the rich cultural heritage of the region and provided a platform for students to showcase their talents through various performance art forms.

The event's formal session was chaired by Hethola K. Yimchunger, Sports Secretary of the History Department Association. It included a welcome address from Mr. S. Thrumho, General Secretary of the History Department Association, and a vote of thanks from Chongkoi M Khiamniungan, Information Secretary of the same association.

Participants competed in multiple categories, including classical dance, cosplay, Bollywood movie scene reenactments, poetry and Shayari recitations, and a bodybuilding competition. The competition aimed to promote cultural awareness and creativity.

In the classical dance category, UG IV Sem secured first place, followed by UG II Sem in second and PG II Sem in third. Kshitiz Mukhiya (UG II Sem), Akivili N. Awomi (PG IV Sem), and Bendanginla (UG IV Sem) took the top three spots in cosplay. The trending moves competition saw UG IV Sem winning first place, with PG II Sem in second. For the filmy scenes competition, UG VI Sem took first place, followed by UG II Sem in second and UG IV Sem in third.

In the Poetry/Shayari contest, Neojila B. Yimchunger (PG II Sem) won first place, Ilito H. Ayemi (PG IV Sem) took second, and Topeka K. Zhimo (UG II Sem) came in third. The bodybuilding competition was won by Kiupito S. Awomi (UG VI Sem), with Phyobenthung Kikon (UG II Sem) and H. Kiyepu Kiba (UG VI Sem) finishing second and third, respectively.

The overall champion of the event was the UG II Semester, followed by UG IV Sem in second place and PG IV Sem in third. The event, coordinated by Dr. Lanuchila Changkiri, Imkongsenla, and K Hokato Sumi, was judged by faculty members from the Department of History.

A total of 177 students, along with eight faculty members, attended the event. The successful gathering celebrated the diversity of artistic expressions and fostered a sense of community and cultural exchange among participants and attendees alike.
