4th KOHIMA SUPER CUP 2022: Barak FC to face New Market FC in finals today

Barak FC will face New Market FC in the finals of 4th Kohima Super Cup 2022 on May 31 at 5:30 PM here at Indira Gandhi Stadium.

The grand finale will be graced by Dr Kekhriekuolie Yhome, Chairman, Nagaland Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board as the guest of honour.

The champion will receive a cash prize of Rs 1.80 lakh while first runner-up will pocket Rs.1.20 lakh.

The individual awards includes player of the tournament, best coach, best referee, best midfielder, best keeper, best defender, best striker, highest scorer, most promising player and best fans club award.

The losing semifinalists A. Yhome FC and G- Sports FC will also get Rs. 30,000 each.

Kohima Super Cup 2022 under the aegis of Kohima Town Club (KTC), commenced on May 16.

Barak FC is making a comeback after a gap of five years gap, while New Market FC is 45 year old club based in Kohima.

New Market remained unbeaten in the tournament so far, while Barak FC has lost a match against Magdaline FC during the league match.

Aloumei Panmei, Barak FC captain and also the only player from the old Barak FC squad unlikely to play in the first 11 due to his injury.

Playmaker Awang Kaurintah is like to lead Barak FC team.

Midfielder Victor Thomsong will continue to lead the team as captain for New Market FC.

Toka Achumi of Aphuyemi FC is the leading scorer of the tournament with 9 goals and Nyithong Magh New of Market FC with eight goals.
