Wokha, September 24 (MExN): The 4th Edition of Lt Bishop Abraham Memorial Volleyball Tournament under the theme, ‘one in faith and action’ organised by Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement will be held from October 2 to 5 at St Paul’s Parish, Wokha. All together 62 teams will be participating in the tournament comprising of 32 male teams and 30 female teams, stated an update received here. 

The tournament is held every after three years in remembrance of Lt Bishop Abraham Alangimattathil, SDB, DD who was the first Bishop of Kohima Diocese. 

Deputy Chief Minister and Leader of the BJP Legislature Party, Y Patton will grace the opening ceremony as special guest while Transport Commissioner and Advisor, Catholic Association of Nagaland, Elias T Lotha will grace the closing ceremony as special guest. Most Rev Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima Diocese will celebrate the Holy Mass on October 3.  The champion team in both categories will win Rs 50000, runners up Rs 30000 and third prize Rs 10000. Other prize category includes- best player, best spiker, best setter and best discipline team.

Other dignitaries and invitees of the event include Lotha Catholic Union, Catholic Association of Nagaland, Nagaland Catholic Women Association, and Lotha Catholic Youth Association.  The organisers have invited everyone, especially the patrons and donors of the tournament, heads of catholic parishes/centres/institutions, catholic officers and public leaders, executives of CAN, NCWA, various Catholic Tribal unions/associations, and parish CYAs to come and grace the occasion. The organisers also informed that there will be free medical camp for the parishioners during the tournament schedule.
