The Kekhrie Krotho in association with Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) Nagaland will be presenting 4th edition of Nagaland World Music Festival under the theme “Threads of Heritage” on November 6 - 7 at Khuzama playground in Kohima district.
Thailand and France will be the country partners for this event. The event will also witness participants from Thailand, France, Myanmar and Nepal.
This was announced today by Nunese Sale, Chief Event Manager during a press conference at Hotel Japfii, Kohima.
He informed that Kekhrie Krotho had three successful edition of All Nagaland Open Folk Song & Fusion Competition, which is now changed to Nagaland World Music Festival from this year.
The festival will feature competition in folk song (Group) and Folk Fusion (Group and Solo).
The winner of Folk Song (Group) will receive Rs 35,000 while runner up will get Rs 15,000. The winner of Folk Fusion (Group) will also get Rs 35,000 while runner up will receive Rs 15,000. The winner of Solo Folk Fusion will get Rs 20,000 while 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded with Rs 10,000 and Rs 5000 respectively.
There will also be a special prize for best male and best female participants.
Abu Metha, Advisor to Chief Minister of Nagaland will be the inaugural guest on November 6 at 3:00 PM. Greetings will be shared by TaFMA Chairman, Theja Meru and Olivier Limousin, Executive Chef, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Bangkok. Special song will presented by Kornkanok Lamomprom, Thailand International Singer & Semi finalist, The Voice Thailand 2024.
There will be cultural show on November 7. Sale said that the event is open to all 17 tribes of Nagaland. All participants are required to wear their respective traditional Attire. Participation will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close once the projected event schedule is filled. Indigenous products and traditional delicacies will be available at the venue.
