4th Sekrenyi Open Air Rifle Shooting Competition held

The Kohima Air Rifle Club has successfully organised 4th Sekrenyi Open Air Rifle Shooting Competition 2021 here at D. Khel Ground, Kohima village in March 29 last.

In Pre-Charged Pneumatic event, Mesekhrietuo Khezhie bagged the first position while Menuobeilie Yiese and Seyievilie Mechülho stood second and third position respectively.

In Break Barrel, Seyievilie Mechülho stood first position while Mesekhrietuo Khezhie and Vipunyü Khezhie stood second and third position respectively.

Top three winners in each category awarded with Rs. 10,000 (Ist), Rs. 7000 (2nd) and Rs. 5000 (3rd).

Earlier, gracing the inaugural function as the special guest, Pele Khezhie, chairman D. Khel Council, Kohima Village encouraged the participants not to stop their journey with this event but to aim for higher level.

He asked the participants to strive hard to excel in the field of games and sports.

To become a good player, commitment and dedication is required, he said.

Ist Assam Rifles commandant also present at the inaugural function.

Also gracing the valedictory function, Dr. Tsielhoutuo (Ato), Managing Director KOHIMAS Hospital lauded the organizer for holding the event as it is one game which does not have any limits, including physical structure or age, and also suits the Nagas.

He urged the participants to take it as profession.

He gave away prize to the winners.

This year’s event registered 30 participants.

Meanwhile, Kohima Air Rifle Club chairman Visasielie Suohu thanked the prize sponsors, special guests and well wishers for the success of the event.
