4th Unity Cup underway in Chumu

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 24 (MExN): The 4th Unity Cup T-20 Cricket tournament, organized by Nepali Baptist Church (NBC) Chümoukedima sports ministry, commenced Thursday, at Chümoukedima Local ground under the theme “Solidarity for peace”.


Kaito Yepthomi, OC, Chümoukedima Police Station graced the opening ceremony as the chief Patron. In his address, Kaito encouraged the youths to be the role model and to be the backbone of the society. He also wished the organizers and players the very best in their future endeavour. He said that team work is the need of the hour to bring about positive change in the society.


In the opening match, Knights XI Thahekhu, last year’s champions, beat MOM CC by 102 Rruns. Man of the match was awarded to Abura of Knights XI Thahekhu who took 5 Wickets & scored 42Runs.


Altogether, 12 teams are taking part in the tournament.
