DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 25 (MExN): Dimapur Police rescued a kidnapped businessman and arrested five persons involved in the abduction on October 24.
According to a press release from the Dimapur Police, information was received at around 2:35 pm regarding the abduction of a local fish wholesaler from his residence by three unidentified miscreants. Based on the information, a search operation was launched during which five accused persons were apprehended, and the victim was rescued from the Dubagaon area.
The police also seized the vehicle used in the commission of the crime. A case has been registered at Dimapur East Police Station, and investigation is underway.
The arrested persons were identified as Antu Mech (30), whose occupation is stated as Tatar, NSCN (R); Nagato Sumi (37), Rajapeyu, NSCN (R); David Chishi (40); Amento Swu (40); and Ruksana Begum (28).
Police stated that further investigation is in progress to ascertain the motive behind the abduction and identify any other individuals involved.
