
The 5-day long Children Film Bonanza concluded today at the State Academy Hall, Kohima with the screening of 4 films with varied themes closing the festival.
'Nani Teri Morni,' 'Pinti Ka Sabun,' 'Gilli Gilli Atta,' and 'Karamati Coat' were the films screened on October 13 drawing goods responses from the audiences.
While 'Nani Teri Morni' directed by Akash Aditya Lama, is based on the true story of Mhonbeni Ezung, a National Bravery Award Winner 2015, who saved her drowning grandmother from river, 'Pinti Ka Sabun' directed by Pramod Pathak, is based on the story of a 12 year old carefree boy Lalit who had never seen soap and later see how things around him change when he gets one. It got the best Children Film Award in Lonavala International Festival of Film& Television India (LIFF),
'Gilli Gilli Atta' directed by Pankaj Parashar uses comedy to impress upon its audiences that good always triumphs over evil in the end. the last film, 'Karamati Coat' directed by Ajay Karthik, based on the story of Raju, a poor rag-picker, who was gifted a magical red coat, later realizing that “easy money comes with its own problems and cannot be enjoyed for long.”
According to a DIPR report, 5-day long Children film bonanza, under the theme 'Promoting Every Child's Right to Entertainment,' which kicked off on October 9, targeted students from in and around Kohima, from class V to class XII.
It drew a good response with more than thousands of students witnessing the screening in various categories of documentary, animation and short films, it said.
The 9 films were screened in the festival delved into real-world conflicts that not only entertain but encourage children to reflect upon the world around them, it added.
The Children Film Society of India (CFSI), a nodal organization of the Government of India promoting and producing children’s films and Television programmes, organised the festival in collaboration with the department's of Social Welfare, Art & Culture, Youth Resource & Sports, School Education and Information & Public Relations, Government of Nagaland.
