51 COVID-19 cases detected in Nagaland

29 more patients recover

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 18 (MExN): Nagaland reported 51 more cases of COVID-19 out of 544 samples tested on September 18. Of the new cases, 23 are in Kohima, 20 in Dimapur, 4 in Mokokchung, 2 in Mon and 1 each in Peren and Tuensang. 

The State also reported 29 recoveries of COVID-19 patients, which include 14 from Dimapur, 8 from Kohima and 7 from Mon. Of the new cases reported on September 18, 17 are from the armed forces/security personnel, 9 are travelers/returnees, 24 are traced contacts and 1 frontline worker. 

The State now has a total of 5,357 cases with 1,213 active cases. Meanwhile a total of 4,108 patients have recovered and 10 deaths have been reported. 

As per the severity of symptoms, 1,197 active cases are asymptomatic, 14 active cases are mild and 2 active cases are moderate.

Further, out of the 5,357 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people includes: 2,501 cases of armed forces/police; 1,430 cases of returnees; 323 cases of frontline workers and 1,103 cases of traced contacts.

Meanwhile, a total of 45,927 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 45,263 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 26,119samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 26,092samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test, 1,241 samples have been tested.
