Chümoukedima, February 20 (MExN): The Department of Industries and Commerce, in collaboration with the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (NIDC), organised a four-day technology clinic training programme on “Digital Fabric Printing: Industrial Processes & Design Technology” at Mongken Apparel Unit, Chümoukedima, from February 16 to 20.
The programme was conducted under the Rising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme with technical support from Mongken Apparel Unit. Altogether, 51 entrepreneurs from across Nagaland participated in the training.
Er Temsumoa Yaden, Technical Production Head, Mongken, led sessions on the Textile Digital Printing & Color Management Clinic and the Textile Process Engineering: Fixation & Finishing Clinic.
Zaren Lotha, Fashion Design & Styling Faculty, Mongken, conducted the Textile Sewing Engineering & Production Control Clinic, while Putuienla Walling, Design & Production Development Faculty Manager, Mongken, also led sessions on Textile Sewing Engineering & Production Control.
The clinic provided participants exposure to various machinery used in textile printing and designing and offered hands-on experience in the end-to-end process of digital textile printing. The RAMP Scheme is a World Bank-supported scheme of the Government of India aimed at improving market access, access to credit, and capacity building of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
In Nagaland, where MSMEs are gradually modernising, access to advanced machinery and technology is considered vital for maintaining competitiveness. The technology clinics under RAMP bring together leading experts and technocrats to equip entrepreneurs with practical knowledge necessary for enterprise upgradation.
