Mokokchung, November 26 (MExN): The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) will be organising the 51st edition of Inter-ward Christmas Cake Race at main police point, Mokokchung Town on December 24 from 6:30 AM onwards. Chumlamo Humtsoe, ADC & CEO of MMC in a notification has encouraged all wards to actively participate in the cake race with a spirit of joy and peace.
Some of the guidelines are as given here: The race is exclusively open to legitimate residents of the Mokokchung Municipality’s different wards; Every participating team must have 2 (two) girls and 9 (nine) boys, for a total of 11 runners, with the first and second runners being female competitors only; Name list of the participants duly signed by the ward authority in the format provided must be submitted latest by December 20 to the technical committee; All the participants are to report at the main police point at 6:00 AM; Military, uniform personnel shall be debarred from participating in the race; Crossing of lanes by the receiving partners (wherever marked or specified) and throwing of batons shall be disqualified; Chest Nos. shall be determined by draw-of-Lot.
Certificates with Cakes will be awarded to all the winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and Cakes to all the participating teams as consolation prizes.
“In case of any dispute, the decision of the organizers shall be final and binding,” the notification added.
