The Angami Sports Association (ASA) is all set to hold 52nd ASA Meet (Wrestling) 2024 on March 16 at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground).
60 wrestlers (15 wrestlers each) from 4 units- Northern Angami Sports Association, Southern Angami Sport Association, Western Angami Youth Organization and Chakhroma Youth Organization (CYO) will compete for this ASA wrestling championship 2024.
Announcing this today through a press conference at Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) office complex Kohima, ASA is expecting around 16,000 spectators.
ASA informed that gallery ticket will stand Rs 100, Chair- Rs 500 and Donor- Rs 2000. Angami Catholic Union (ACU) will assist the meet as ground management.
ASA President Er Lhoubeizo Kesiyie informed that ASA is one of the oldest organizations in Angami region, which was formed in 1967. He invited all the wrestling lovers to witness this 52nd ASA wrestling meet.
Er Kesiyie told media persons that 18 wrestlers will be selected from this meet to represent ASA at the upcoming Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) Meet 2024.
Meanwhile, ASA acknowledged Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) CEO Er Kezha Theunuo for granting Khuochiezie for 52nd ASA Meet despite the construction is yet to be fully completed.
PRIZE MONEY FOR 52ND ASA WRESTLING MEET
• Champion: Rs 2.50 lakh.
• 1st Runner- Up: Rs 1.70 lakh
• 2nd Runner-Up: Rs 1.30 lakh
• 4th Position: Rs 1 lakh
• Losing quarter finalists: Rs 20,000 each
• Best tactics: Rs 15,000.
