Tuensang, February 4 (MExN): MLA Imtichoba Chang on February 4 officially upgraded the Government Middle School, Tuensang Village to Government High School.
In his inaugural speech, Chang acknowledged and appreciated the Nagaland Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio; Advisor, School Education; Commissioner & Secretary, School Education; District Administration, Tuensang; DEO Tuensang; SMC and Tuensang Village Council for their role and support in upgradation of the school from Middle School to High School.
Chang stated that the government has finally responded to the urgent calls and sincere prayers of the people for upgradation of the school after 57 years of establishment. At the same time, the MLA urged the Village Council to have ownership of the school, while also encouraging the Coubncil to act as Guardian for the students and teachers coming from other villages.
Likewise, he further encouraged the teachers to be a beacon of hope for the students and to teach and guide the students to bring laurel to the School, to survive and compete with other Government School of the district.
Other highlights of the day were invocation by Noksensangla, APY TSBL; welcome address by Mongko Chollan, Chairman SMC; Short speeches from Shelly Katiry, ADC Tuensang; C Pongsu, President of CWS; Rose Ngullie, DEO Tuensang and B Kaimang President of TVCU. Message and dedicatory Prayer by Rev T Mongba, Pastor of TSBL and a vote of thanks by Yakchingsonla, Teacher Incharge of GHS Tuensang Village. The program was chaired by Noksen, GT GHS, Tuensang Village.
