
Tizu, February 1 (MExN): The 59th meet of Tizü Area Sports Association (TASA) concluded at Tizü Area Sports Complex, Khuza on January 14. The nine teams which include Khuza, Tehephu, Kutsapo, Sohomi, üthotsu, Kizari, Khutsokhuno, Chepoketa and Mutsale took part in the 59th TASA meet.
The six-day event which began on January 9 was hosted by Khuza village with the teams competing for running cash prize of Rupees nine lakh and five hundred, stated a press release issued by the Media Cell, TASA.
In men’s football, defending champ Khutsokhuno Sports Association emerged as the champion after defeating Kutsapo Sports Association and walked away with Rs 3 lakh including trophy while the runners up received a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh. The best discipline award was bagged by Mutsale Sports Association.
The final men football match of the tournament was graced by K Shevotso Rhakho, Village Council Chairman, Kutsapo as the match patron.
The closing ceremony began with invocation by Thüyephuyi Lohe, Pastor, Khuza Town Baptist Church and TASA, Vice President Ludoveyi Vero chaired the function with a special number from Thujosulu Tetseo while vote of thanks was proposed by Vechivo Rhakho, Finance Secretary.
The outgoing president, Chisato Vero also informed that the selected players will be representing TASA in the forthcoming PDSA meet at Chozuba Village.
The new team of TASA for the tenure 2023-25 will be headed by Ludoveyi Vero as President and Divito Vese as General Secretary.
