Special guest and others during the International Women’s Day event organised by Women’s Cell of Pfutsero Government College.

Phek, March 9 (MExN): The Women’s Cell of Pfutsero Government College organised the “first ever and one of its kind” 5K Mekhela Run for all the women staff and students on International Women’s Day at Pfutsero. The 5K race started from Razhielu till Peak of Hope.
The Women’s Day commemoration was graced by Vishü Rita Krocha, a renowned Poet, Journalist and Publisher as the special guest. Krocha addressed the gathering on gender equality. She stated that men and women should be raised equally and equal opportunities should be given to everyone and not based on the gender role they are defined with.
She also mentioned on the journey of her writing, that there is nothing like doing what one loves because it brings changes to the society and it can take you to places.

Earlier, Dr Tialila, Principal, PGC, in her welcome note mentioned on this year’s theme “Accelerate Action” campaigning for an emphasis on taking decisive steps towards progress and empowering women and girls worldwide thus the symbolic acknowledgement of our mothers and grandmothers for their resilience and hardwork .
The winners for the students category for the 5K run were Vesevolü Kezo (1st), Thunodulu Therie (2nd) and Sesatolu Tetseo (3rd). A special prize for the lady staff category was awarded to Wetsoü Medo, Assistant Professor, Department of History.
