
Eleven Weavers and Unicorn register win

Eleven Weavers and Unicorn, both from Kohima registered win against their rivals on the second day of the 5th Silver Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament organised by Youth Department of Nepali Baptist Church Kohima under the theme ‘Peace and Unity through Cricket’.
Playing the first match, Eleven Weavers defeated Silver White by 92 runs. Taking the bat first, Eleven Weavers set a huge target of 179 runs losing 6 wickets in complete 20 overs. Enan contributed highest 61 runs while Uppender scored 36. Silver White bowler Kiran Sunar claimed 3 rival wickets.
Chasing the target, Silver White were knocked out for 86 runs in 16.3 overs with Tulsi scoring highest 27 runs. Manjeet claimed 4 wickets while Rahul claimed 3 wickets for Eleven Weavers.
Enan was adjudged the man of the match for his 61 runs. He received the trophy and citation from Umpire Onen Jamir.
In the second match, Unicorn Cricket Club defeated Flinging CC by 63 runs. Bating first they scored 129 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs with Benato scoring 34 runs. However, chasing the marginal target, Flinging were all out in 12.5 overs scoring 66 runs.
Bongmai of Unicorn was adjudged man of the match for his 20 runs supported by a wicket and maiden over. Flinging bowler Barast created the record of claiming 5 wickets in a single match and received the ball.
The awards were handed over by Vice president of Gorkha Students’ Union Kohima, Ankur Rai.
