60th Pochury ‘Black Day’ observed

PHEK, SEPTEMBER 6 (MExN): The 60th Pochury ‘Black Day’ was observed at Freedom Park, in Matiikhrii village under Meluri sub-division on Sunday last. 

The programme was conducted following the standard operating procedure set by the administration in view of the ongoing pandemic. 

Pochury Hoho, pochury mother's association, village leaders of Matiikhrii village and Pochury Students’ Union gathered to pay tribute to the fighters of the land who laid their lives to save the land. 

Pastor MBC Matiikhrii village Zhethopa Pojar started the programme with prayers. 

VCC, Masi Katiry expressing gratitude to the officials and public leaders for attending the programme said that the blood and sacrifice made by the elders should always be remembered and made known to the coming generations. 

President of the PSU, Miipatho Nyuthe underscoring the importance of the day said “We as Nagas should all come forward and work as one and live as one like our elders for our state to reach the zenith of development.”

PSU General Secretary, Ngoushutho Ngouri thanked the elders for taking the effort to keep the younger generation rooted to their history.
