67th Phek Students’ Union general session underway

A two-day long 67th general session-cum-cultural dance competition of the Phek Students’ Union (PSU) commenced today at GHS Auditorium Hall, Phek Village under the theme “Beyond Mediocrity.”

Addressing the inaugural session as the speaker, Dr Pritpal Kaur, IPS, Superintendent of Police Phek, emphasised on putting God first and reminded that without God nothing is possible.

She told the students to be practical and achieve its aims and contribute for the well-being of the society.

She urged upon the students to use social media wisely.

Also speaking on the occasion, W Balong Phom, EAC, Phek Hq, urged upon the students to give due importance to local language and uphold culture identity.

Citing example of countries such as China, Russia, which have preserved and practise its language over English.

Huvekholü Keyho, Women VDB, Phek Village also exhorted the gathering.

The inaugural session started with invocation prayer led by Kuzhohu Soho, Pastor, CRC while welcome address was delivered by PSU vice president Muleyi Vero.

Veshe Chizo, President, Phekmi Collegiate Forum also shared greetings.

General Secretary report was presented by Sherakho Venuh, PSU General Secretary, highlighting the activities and progress of the union.

PSU assistant general secretary Poshelii Venuh led presentation of the meritorious award.

The inaugural session was chaired by PSU vice president Raleve Chizo.

The session concluded with a benediction prayer by Chinieta Rhakho, Deacon Chairman, PVBC.

In the afternoon session, the Literary Session was moderated by Poluto Soho, Debate & Symposium Secretary.

The session commenced with an invocation prayer by Niekuvolu Lohe, Associate Pastor, Women Department, PVBC.

A special number was presented by Besüsao Venuh and Anuhu Rhakho.

The Competition Hour featured Spelling Bee, Extempore Speech, and Quiz with Tuku Venuh, Tsupolu Vero and Munune Venuh as judges.

The session concluded with a benediction prayer by Ozo Venuh, Youth Director, CRC. The session will continue till January 3.
