Altogether 125 people from 40 villages under Pungro sub-division today attended a meeting with Colonial Aditya Verma Commandant 7 Assam Rifle Kiphire at Administrative Guest House, Pungro under Kiphire district.
Addressing the gathering, Colonial Aditya Verma expressed gratitude to the citizens of Pungro for their support and cooperation in establishing the new 7 Assam Rifle post at Pungro.
Sharing his concern on peace in the district, the Colonial said February 6, 2016 incident has disturbed the peaceful co-existence between the Sangtam and the Yimchunger in the district. He appealed to the people gathered to move forward by leaving behind the past differences and come together to live peacefully.
The Colonial also assured to work for peace and development of the region for which he seek support and co-operation form the people gathered.
The Colonial requested the people gathered to send their children for pre-required qualification to COB Pungro for carrying out pre-recruitment training. He also emphasised on the need for pre-required qualification as it produce better result.
Leaders from the area also spoke on the occasion and assured all possible help and support for peace and tranquility.
